Bottom bracket woe, joy, and a bit wanted.

Oh the joys of pulling out bottom brackets. I thought I'd greased it too.
Good thing those spline tools are good and strong - well, against the steel
on the drive side, anyway. And yes, I did remember which way round :)

Defeated with the help of a friendly local garage - decent size air impact
wrench took care of it, with a bit of heat to help it (cost 2 quid). I think
tbe BB tool itself is a lifu tool, with a 1/2" square drive - recommended.

Anyway I'll be putting in a new BB after it's been sprayed. It's a tandem,
and has a mismatched crossover chainset, such that the LH side needs a
longer BB than the RH side. Now, this is fortunately the easy way round,
because Shimano helpfully make the bodies of their 68 and 73mm bottom
brackets the same length, just with asymmetric axles and a different sized
spacer for the 73mm ones. So I can just go and get another 73mm BB of the
right length.

However I need the ring which goes in the LH (non-drive) side - ie the one
off a 68mm BB. Does anybody have an old one?

cheers,
