Are you asking what a good set of brakes are for a mountain or road bike?
Or, if you are having problems with your own brakes efficiency, then check the brake pads and the brake cables going to the brakes. This make the most impact in the braking efficiency.

Some say its all about power but I say power without control/modulation is useless... yes?
