brake leverss for canti brakes?

    will be using avid shorty 6 canti brakes.

    what are my options for brake levers?

    are dia-Compe 287 levers dependable?

    Road levers work out well with cantilever brakes like that.
    Also standard cantilever levers are ok.

    FYI. The Dia-Compe 287 brake levers are designed to be used with V-brakes.

    Cantilever Brake calipers work the best (after the "straddle cable" is properly adjusted) with "regular" brake levers.

    FWIW. Here's a picture of one of my bikes on which I am using a set of AVID Shorty 4 calipers:

    As you can see, the bike has "regular" brake levers -- in this case, Campagnolo Ergo levers.
