my old campy record calipers and original black campy brake blocks worked really well on the vintage mavic rims (gel280 gl330 gp4 ma40 etc...) on my new kysrium elites they're nice and smooth for slowing down but not the best in an emergency (like if i want to show off and do some skids! ;) ...)

what pads work well on these newer machined sidewall rims? they seem quite slick... is it just me?
