Brakes squeaking

my rear brakes squeak REALLY loud during braking, is there a fix to this? thanks.
Usually due to the brake pads not being toed-in properly or being inproperly aligned, or worn. ( The shoe should be set so that the front edge of the pads contact the rim slightly before the rear edge.) On some types of brakes the shoes themselves can be easily adjusted for toe-in. On many newer dual-pivot road brakes, they cannot be easliy adjusted, unfortunately without torqueing the caliper.

Also check to make sure that your do not have excessive buildup of residue on the rim and that the surface of the pads themselves are clean and not glazed or have any metallic particles embedded in them.
