Okay, I feel stupid asking this question but I've been looking at the tensioner mechanism on my Brooks B17 Champion Special and I can't figure out how it's supposed to work. Can anyone here explain it to me? Or to make it even simpler just answer this question: In order to increase or add tension do I turn the nut (the B17 CS has the external nut and not the hex socket) clockwise or counter-clockwise (assuming I'm looking at the nose or front of the saddle)?

I'm thinking that I probably have to turn it counter-clockwise to "push" the adjustment screw into the the "nose piece" of the saddle but I'm really not sure... Maybe I'm supposed to turn it clockwise so the other end presses against the "shackle" piece that fits over the front of the frame? This is something that I should really be able to figure out but I'm just not sure! And I can't find anything on the web on how to do it either. Even at the Permaco (Brooks) web site... Anyone?
