Brown Leather Bar Tape ?

I have a selle italia sorik retro saddle and really want to get some tan color leather bar tape. Does anyone know where I can source this ?

This place offers calf skin bar tape. It's manufactured by FUJITOSH.

I do believe it's pricey...like about $50.00.

ive seen that saddle, its nice!

i ran across an interesting article the other day on the web about tape.

specifically, old-skool tape.

this guy had a writeup about his tape process, which from what i could gather, was that cotton tape was used, and then was coated with "shellac" like is used like a wood stain. the shellac essentially water-proofed the tape.

the finished "look" seemed to be a good fit for retro projects.
think brooks saddles and gum hoods.

try google or yahoo search on: handlebar, tape and shellac (unsure of shellac spelling)

I have actually seen fully stiched leather on handlebars. Doing that could get you something that really matches. I realize this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but for a general example http://www.cinelli.it/eng/bici/curve/VIP_Solida_Magnum.html
With some research, you could even do it yourself with the proper materials. To my way of thinking, that would make it even more special.
