We got burgled at home on Friday (around lunchtime no less).
We have a monitored alarm and we think that the alarm scared the burglar off after he smashed the back doors in, but before he could steal anything.
Mrs A and the Shorter Daughter had been out, and were waiting on the front stairs when I got home.
The first question from Mrs A, after I had gone in was, "Is everything still there - are the bikes OK?"
Not "Is my jewellery OK?" or "Is the telly still there?"
Mrs A is a wonderful woman.
I spent Friday night and Saturday morning doing a bit of carpentry to fix the damage to the lock/doors.
