buying folding bike (Dahon?) in Guangzhou/Canton, China

Has anyone here tried to buy in bike in China recently? Any suggestions
on finding a shop? Haggling?
I'm looking for a cheap folder to travel with, starting in Guangzhou.
And I believe Dahon, made in China, sell some cheap domestic models.
Are the export models much cheaper there? If it survives the trip,
I can later upgrade the components to real malaysian shimano ones

Note, this is not for serious long distance, loaded touring this time,
or I'd bring my own bike from home.
