I sweat a lot when I ride and living in a country where the average temp is in the mid 80's a sweat a lot. I have a problem with my rear break cable & housing as when I sweat, the sweat pools around the the area where the cable goes into the housing and after a while the cable get corroded inside the housing. I've tried greasing the cable with silicon grease and squirting 3 in 1 in the housing but the cable sticks hard.

My question is do you think it's a problem to have the housing running all the way along the top tub from levers to the brake without having the bare cable in the gap between the seat tube and the headset? I'll probably use cable ties to support the housing and might have to enlarge the braze ons that currently secure the housing.

Many bikes use a fully enclosed brake cable. (My Tri bike) Also try to find a stainless steel inner. ;)
