Cable remove

Hey, can someone help me, I am painting my trek 2000 5500 frame. Anyone know how these little barrel adjustment come off? I took out the screw but they don't budge. Are they removable? See picture. Thanks for any suggestion [ATTACHMENT=504]image.jpg (1,215k. jpg file)[/ATTACHMENT]

They should just pop off the mounting boss after the screws are removed.


Dried paint have them stuck?

Thanks, you right dried paint. Maybe I can lightly tap them loose.
