Hi all.

Is it possible to calculate average wattage for a workout on an oval track? It seems like it would be an ideal setting (completely flat, no net wind resistance (ideally)).

I suppose you would need time, distance... gearing?

Thanks

There are some online calculator programs which will estimate power required for given road speed, grade and winds. Here's one I've used:

The biggest variable is your aero position on the bike, which determined the frontal area and drag coefficient part of the formula. Interesting descriptions and discussions here about all the variables.
