Ah - but that's because cyclists are on the road because the bit of
tarmac they were on has magically transformed itself from cyclepath to
road. Unless of course they took the "Cyclists dismount" sign as an
instruction rather than an observation, in which case the sign should be
warning motorists of pedestrians on the road and not cyclists.

Or is that what you meant? :)
