Used to stick some good old engine oil on jockey wheels to stop them squeaking but is this ok with the Campag stuff - are they sealed and do they need replacing?

Campy says you can remove them with a 3 mm Allen, clean them, and put them back where the came from. There is a top one and a bottom one.
They mention nothing of lubrication.
I put a drop of Tri-flow on the inside and make sure that no excess squeezes out.
They do wear out and are easily, but not cheaply, replaced.

FYI...there is an "Upper" and "Lower" jockey wheel for your Campy 8 speed. They are labeled on the wheels.
Cleam em, squrit em with Tri-Flow and you're all set.
Safe cycling.
