I have recently just bought some campag Zonda wheels and although I asked for a shimano freehub, they have put a campag hub on them.
I heard that SRAM cassettes are compatible with shimano hubs.
I will try and send them back to get a shimano hub but one problem is that time is of the essence and the other is that through reading about what to do, I have learned that it is not a simple case that all SRAM cassettes will fit a shimano hub.
I have purchased a SRAM Force 2010 groupset, with an 11-25 cassettes, what hub do I need for this to work with these wheels? I have looked but there seems to be a whole variety of options......
The spline pattern is exactly the same for sram and shimano. I've seen sram and shimano cassettes used interchangably on 9 and 10 speed bikes. Whether they have shimano or sram components makes no difference. If you can quote some examples of incompatibility that you have read about, it might be easier to advise.
Campagnolo make two cassette carriers one for sram/shimano and one for campagnolo cassettes. The hubs are otherwise the same. Fulcrums are also made by campagnolo. You can sometimes find cassette carriers for sale as spare parts for either brand. I think the shimano/sram ones were sold by campag as "HG compatible".
