I'm running the standard 52/39 double chain wheel with a 172.5 Campagnolo Record Crank (BMC Team Machine). I'm happy with the 52 but would like to go lower than the 39. Does Campagnolo make anything smaller which is compatable?

    thx

no, 38t on a Shimano, 39t Campy unless you want to purchase a compact chainset or maybe a 13-26 cassette or similar.

Cool. Thanks for the answer. It's not bad enough to switch to a compact, I can deal :)

    thx!

What are you running in the back? I have found the ideal for me (heavier rider, slower climber) to be a Campy 53 / 39 in front and a Miche 13-28 10 Speed in the back.

Wide range high to low, with a medium cage rear derailleur.
