Can someone tell me if you can change the main spring in the rear derailler, my mech told me that it was getting too loose and it could not be change. I have been putting 25-30K km and am wondering if I should just change it ?

I have a Campy 8 speed package also.
All Campy parts are available for replacement. Branford bike is a big Campy on-line service. http://www.branfordbike.com/
They have a ton of Campy parts.
The one thing you might want to keep in mind is this.
When your ride is over, it's a good habit to store your bike with the chain on the small chainring in front and for the rear, put it in the smallest cog.
This way the springs on the rear derailer and front derailer are in the position of the least amount of stretch. I religiously do this on mine.
I've had my Campy 8 speed since 1993, and all is fine.

You can even send your rear derailer to Branford and they will swap out that rear spring for you.
Good luck.....Safe cycling.

Thks .. I'll see if I can get my LBS mech do it .. if not at least you gave me another option than bying another RD ..

Cheers
