A recent article in the Feb/March edition of the UK's CTC magazine suggested that Campy 10 speed
levers could be used directly with a Shimano 8 speed rear end, since the amount of cable Campy 10
speed levers pull is apparently exactly the same as the amount a Shimano 8 speed one does.

Has anyone tried this, and can these figures be confirmed?

Thanks in advance,

Tom Wright

Here's a www link, specifically for 9-speed but may be helpful

You can put 8 of 9 cogs on a 8sp hub body and shift with Campy 9 levers and a Campy derailleur.

No, but what about this: you can get a conversion cogset from Wheels Manufacturing or from American
Classic and use a Shimano-compatible wheelset with Campagnolo 10-speed drivetrain.
