I will be ordering a touring road bike with Campy gears and cannot work out how to get a 20 to 100 inch gear range. The Campy web site seems to indicate that I cannot get lower than a 30,40,50 X 13,29 (Centaur 10 speed) which is 27 inches. How do I get down to 20 inches? I am not stuck on any one group but don't want to go above Centaur.

You cannot get there with campy. 20 gear inches with a 29 cog requires a 22 granny ring. Smallest you can use on your 74 BCD granny is a 24 and shifting likely would suffer even with that. You need a crankset with a smaller BCD,something like an mtb crank that could use a 48 ring to get the 100gi with a 13 cog, and the 22 granny for the 20 gi
