I am trying to decide which wheelset would suit me best - Campy Neutron or Campy Eurus. I generally do rides of around 30 miles, and enjoy gradients (in either direction). Some of the roads I ride on have less-than-perfect surfaces. I do around 22-23 mph (35 - 37 kph) on flats. Bearing these things in mind, what wheelset would suit me best? Also, would either one be a significant upgrade over what I currently use (2003 Mavic Cosmos)? I'm reasonably familiar with the theory about the pros and cons of low-profile vs. medium profile rims and conventional vs. non-conventional wheelsets and so on, but I'd be interested to hear practical opinions. All advice/comments appreciated. Also, any suggestions for other suitable wheelsets would be very welcome.

I've just started to race 4th cat with Eurus, great in crits but not so good when it's hilly because the 30 mm rim depth weighs considerably more than wheels with shallower rims. Bearing this in mind i'd suggest you go for something like Mavic Elite's, shallow rims, good stiff wheels which don't cost the earth, slightly heavier than Ksyriums but the extra weight isn't concentrated in the rim so i think the Elite's would be better value for money. Whatever you choose i'd steer clear of deep rims.

well the weights are pretty much identical so i guess experience with the two sets is what matters, that or like you said low vs medium profile theories. and cost too of course.
