Is it possible to modify a 2004 Cannondale Bad Boy from a 26-inch, V-
Brake to a 700c, disc brake bike?

Thanks!

Does it have disc brake tabs? Does it have room for big fat 26"
tires? If yes to both, then you probably can make the switch. The
original Bad Boy used a regular MTB frame, and only had room for very
skinny 700C tires, so that's likely what you'd be facing.

You can also convert to 650A or 650B, not that I'm necessarily
recommending either of those things. But that would allow you to use
a bigger wheel size without limiting yourself to only skinny tires.

If you switch to disc brakes, you can freely interchange between
wheels of different sizes, constrained only by your frame's tire
clearance and ground clearance.

Not easily.

You'll need a new fork, and a disc mount brazed onto the rear triangle
and there may not be clearance for 700c tyres under the brake bridge, so
you might need to get the chainstays/seat stay extended (possible to do
but good luck finding a bike store willing to do it)

Changing the geometry like this will also change how the bike handles
and feels to ride. Possibly not for the better.

IMHO You'de be better off spending the cash to buy a new frame.

Cheers

If you change your frame and fork you can pretty much do anything!

Probably, but it would be foolish. Spend 50 dolares on some salmon
pads for your LP brakes and get some nice 1.25" slicks and that bad
boy will have its hair re-pomaded.

Or a framebuilder...I'd guess most would refuse to mess with an
aluminum frame because the whole thing would need to be re-heat
treated afterwards.

I don't have any experience switching to 700c tires but agree about discs
vs. pads. We have a two cross bikes with discs and two with regular old
avid brakes. Even in the wet most seem to agree that KoolStop salmon bikes
are better braking.

Yep, One of the mechanics at work moonlights as a cross country MTB
racer (She's got Felt sponsorship so i guess she knows what she's
talking about) and it's common for her to choose the race bike setup
with V-brakes over the disc brake bike to save weight in all but the
most extreme wet and muddy conditions.
