... or 4 max - training rides that is.

I'm back on a road bike for the first time in 8 years or so. Funnily enough, I still feel reasonably strong on the training rides I've done this past couple of weeks. I'm signing up for a metric century in a few weeks time and am looking for a bit of advice as to what balance of fast vs. endurance rides to do.

The distance doesn't really worry me, it's not that far and I'll be able to tough it out whatever. I'm still thinking one longer ride per week would be worth it though, just not at recovery pace?

I'm thinking a 10M TT once a week or similar duration reps, or general playing around with pace/hills/sprints like 'fartlek' in running. Maybe not eyeballs-out, but pushing it.

I've got one or maybe two other rides then - what would you do on those days?

Does that seem a reasonable approach to improving my bike fitness without blowing up? I'm going to run short and easy on the balance of 6 days.
