Cannondale Head Shock Issues

I have a cannondale super v 900 and the head shock has locked up on me. it has an on off dial..... the dial turns but no bannans. any ideas?

I have a '96 Super V 1000.

Have you taken off the rubber turn-knob? After you do, there should be an adjustment nut that you dial in/out the compression amount.

I took the rubber dial off and used a pair of pliers to turn the shaft. it turns freely but for some reason it's just not letting go. Maybe I need a bigger hammer!!! LOL
