Cannondale R400 Sport as a commuter?

Hello...

I am considering getting a Cannondale R400 Sport, with the triple, as a commuter. I have a few
questions about fender/tire clearance. I am looking at a fast commuter, as I ride 25mi RT to work.

a) Assuming I get the SKS/ESGE P35 fenders (which can be used upto 32mm tires), would the fender
even fit on the frame?
b) What is the widest tire this bike can accomodate with fenders? (winter being the main
consideration).
c) What components should I swap out to avoid future heartache?
d) Any opinions on the suspension seat-post? Any cons to that? Should I swap it out and get a
regular seatpost?).

Thanks for any/all help. Cheers! Narayan. ( from Vancouver, BC)

Well, it's worth giving a chance. If your knees hurt, try a rigid seatpost. Suspension posts haven't
bothered my knees, but I've only used them off-road.
