There's a collector's market for them though, so the prices can go quite
high for those that are in the best condition.

Just in case you're not aware, the design of the arms was front-rear
specific, shorter for the rear (for better modulation and heel clearance).

I think they were last made in 1995 prior to the release of V-brakes. The
XT model was available for a while longer - I bought a set new in 1998 or
'99. One of the German distributors still had stock of XTR until fairly
recently.
