I've attempted to put a pair of Tektro Oryx canti brakes on a '06 Giant
TCX Cyclocross bike.
There's a lot of play in them, and I think it's due to the brake not
being able to clear the part of the canti post with two flat wrench
faces. So the brakes don't sit flush against the frame or fork - they
sit against that bulge with the two wrench faces.
I've tried a washer but I don't think I'll be able to use one wide
enough to eliminate all of the play, because it would push the brake
too far away from the hole that holds the spring.
I've tried one different canti boss, same effect. I could try another
brakeset. Before I do, does anyone have any wisdom to pass on from a
similar experience?
Thanks,
Erik
