Carbon Assembly Paste on Threads?

  1. I am wondering if anyone has experience putting carbon assembly paste on
    threaded parts such as a bottom bracket? I cannot find the instructions
    that came with mine (not that I recall them being too great). I have
    used grease, teflon tape, and (rarely) loctite on BB threads. But I get
    slipping in the BB more often than I think I should. I think I am
    putting plenty of muscle when installing and I generally want to avoid
    loctite (I use blue on the fixed cup for italian and french threads). So
    I am wondering if the carbon assembly paste might be worth a try. Any
    comments? Thanks

    Prepping the BB shell will dop more for keeping a BB cup tight than
    this or any other material. BTW, we just had to cut a BB cup outta a
    Bianchi that was loctited in.

    Next time take it up to about 180F degrees first. The paint will still
    be OK but the loctite breaks down.

    maybe a little hotter, but indeed, that's absolutely the way to do it.
