I'm thinking of going into the $1000+ range for wheels, and was wondering what difference carbon wheels will make. I'm looking at a 38mm rim depth.

I'm pleased with my current Neuvation alloy clinchers, but I'm intrigued by the carbon wheels.

If deep, more aero. Weight is about the same as aluminum rims. In the grand scheme of things 'bicycle', it will not make a big difference in you and your riding. If you want to save weight AND get aero, gotta be tubulars but even then, about a pound or less. For the bicycle and rider 'package', less than 1%, won't make you 1% faster.
