Hi everybody,

I have a pretty complicated question. Probably only an experienced mechanic knows the answer.

Before building up a frame with a Dura Ace group, with a metal frame, you have to do the finishing first. One has to tap the bottom bracket thread, use a facing tool in order to flatten the BB, use a reamer for the seat tube (in order to avoid damage on your new (carbon) seat post), use a fork crown facer in order to flatten the fork crown.

Now I want to build up a carbon monocoque frame with a Dura Ace group. But I know that it in't wise to cut into the composite material. Because of that the fork crown shouldn't be flattened. What about the rest of the mentioned things? Do I have to assume that everything is allright when the frame comes from the factory or is there need for some finishing work first?

Hoping there are some people who have experience with building up carbon frames on this forum, I remain. Thanks in advance.

Cycling greetings, Frank.
