Did a search and was surprised not to find any post of this, but thought it is worth noting. Carla was an up and coming athlete in women's pro cycling - already having dominated in collegiate cycling. Unfortunately she was killed in an accident while TT training in South Africa Tuesday this week. Apparently she lost her cycling computer and instinctively turned to retrieve it just as a truck was approaching. The driver did everything possible to avoid hitting her, but was unsuccessful. Team car was following her and saw it all.
Very, very sad. Condolences to her family and friends.
