Carrera Vulcan bottom bracket

Hey guys, i've been having troubles with my bottom bracket lately, and finally have the cash to change it, however, my pedal arms are seized on to the bike, does anyone have any useful tips on removing them without damaging anything? Also, does anyone know what size and style the bottom bracket is on a Carrera Vulcan XC Disc Spec '09 model? Cheers.
