  1. I have an 8 speed 12-25 cassette on a bike with a tiagra rear mech. Would an 8 speed 11-28 go in, and still allow the rear mech to change to the lowest gear comfortably?

  2. Yes it will work up to 30 tooth OK, however, If you are looking to gear up, consider the Sunrace 11-24 8 speed cassette. 😉

Thanks. As for the Sunrace (whatever they are), it's really the 28 I want, not so much the 11. We have a lot of hills here. I know my limitations.

I spent most of last year turning too big a gear. Stupifyingly now I start spinning smaller gears I am cycling a lot better.

  4. Hi Kelly, I was going to say that the 11 is probably a waste of time on you as you aren't fast down hills. There are lots of sizes available, so if the bike shop doesn't have a 12-28, then go somewhere else. Cheers Mike.
