a 7 speed ATB hg50 cassette plus a custom cog to build an 8
speed cassette then mount onto an 8/9 ATB deore hub needs a
1mm to .9mm spacer plus the the regular nylon spacer or a
metal spacer with 1mm added to the nylons width. there are
rear metal spacers wider than the between cog spacers and
arrive at the LBS at 1mm thicknesses: more durable but
harder to file down evenly if necessary. This here spacer
gives a mount that needs pressure for threading. A bit filed
of the rear cassette bumps might give more threading
percentage. The ATB cog is not chromed but mostly similar to
the road cogs and saves ten bucks. The one built here is a
14-32+34 effective for casual touring and commuting with a
two CR drive.
