Hey all,
You've gotta be kidding me.
After posting all sorts of data about the accuracy of the new Astrale 8 vs. my decade old (but still
wonderful) Specialized cyclocomp, the cadence on the Astrale 8 just upped and quit on me today!
After only 110 miles and 4 short outings.
Can you frigging believe it!? My tried and true Specialized, something like 10 or 11 years old, with
probably 20,000+ miles on it and its harness, banged up in countless falls, water and God knows what
else spilled on it, a scratched and bruised case and lens, cut up buttons, and chiggered wires and
contacts, is still going strong without ever a single malfunction. Amazing!
I'll chalk it up to one of those small % bad units that leave the factory. In this case the harness,
wire, or pickup. The headunit registers cadence when I short the appropriate pins, but no signal
comes from the pickup.
