I've been using a Cateye Cordless 7 on my
bike and I've noticed that it stops reading
when I'm going down reasonably steep
hills. It starts back up when I hit level
ground so I know it's not a positioning
problem with the sensor. I'm not sure if
it's a speed problem or something to do
with the tilt of the bike on the hills.

Anybody knows what causes this?

Is there a fix?

I'd like to know how fast I'm going on
those hills.

I had a similar problem with mine. The difference was that mine wouldn't read UP hills. Especially when I was out of the saddle. I was never able to figure out why. I also had some interference problems around electric fences and such. I bought a Polar 720i, which is also cordless, and haven't had any problems whatsoever.
