Hello, I just installed a brand new cateye cordless 7, but when the wheel spins, I initially get the correct speed e.g. 12 mph, but within a couple of seconds it drops down to 6 mph, then jumps up to 12 mph, and drops down to 6 mph...etc..etc.. Can anyone help me out on this problem... thanks in advance,

I've seen this on normal wired speedometers when the magnet on the spoke doesn't pass close enough to the sensor on the fork. Because the magnet isn't passing quite close enough, the sensor sometimes only detects every other pass, causing it to display half your real speed. So fist thing I'd check is that the sensor and magnet are passing as close as you can make them.

I would also first check the sensor position - but simply as close as possible won't always be right. Experiement with different positions (the best one may differ from what the manual indicates going by my Cateye experience). Height is critical too. Set it in the middle of the range of positions that work at all.
Securing the magnet firmly and using some self amalgamating rubber tape under the sensor will help keep it all in place. If that doesn't work, *then* start suspecting battery or radio problems, etc, etc.
