Can some one tell me the differnces in the Shimano Chains ( Dura-ace XTR CN-7701 - 9 spd 116 links 304 Grams ) and ( Dore XT CN-HG93 - 9 spd 116 links 304 Grams ). This chain will be for my touring bike the bike takes 116 links and weights 27# + 230# for the rider

I did google both of these chain when you first posted. Not much info was found other than price and availability. I would only think that the Deore chain would be more durable but that is only a guess on my part. Dura Ace is Shimanos performance line and in my opinion performance and durability are two different features.

Specs appear to be same except DA chain lists a plating that the Deore doesn't.
- Zinc alloy plated inner and outer plates with chromizing treatment link pin
Chain finish is often a differentiator. In theory halps prevent corrosion. Both could be plated and only the DA has the "chromized" pin, or some other combination. As noted DA has to be differentiated in a premium way for marketing reasons, so it has "something" extra.
