Is it necessary to shorten the length of the chain when going from a 12-27 to 12-23 9-speed Shimano? (I realize it's not campy Vo2, but I've pulled in a few fish with my "reel")
It might pay to remove a few links depending on how well it fits now. Removing links in a chain is quite easy with a sachs chain, i've never used a shimano chain, so i dont know about them.
