chain squeak, but really?

Okay, new chain, new cassette
Chain oiled to buggery, but still i am getting, what sounds like the
familiar chain squeal on gear change.
Logic says its the side plate lubrication, but i really can't put any
more oil on. I even didn't wipe it off just to see.
So now I'm thinking it is something else... but what?

cheers,

Have you stripped, cleaned & lubricated your jockey wheels?

Time flys when you're having fun.
Your luggage flys only after you've left Terminal 5.

I guess it's the only thing it can be, but I'll be amazed if they make
that noise. Still I'll do it in the morning, of what promises to be a
bazzing day. Surely Britain will be full of cyclists tomorrow. Light
winds, warm & dry. It's been a long time. Personally planning 60 miles
round the white peak

Jockey wheels can squeak loudly, but if it was the jockey wheels squeaking,
I would expect them to squeak all the time you are pedalling, not just when
changing gear. But maybe it could be something to do with them afterall.

Have a closer look at everything, lube the jockey wheels and derailleur
pivots, and checking the chain for stiff links.

Well that's fixed it anyhow, I did strip the chain as well, so could
have been either. JWs certainly didn't look like they needed such
treatment. Next on the agenda...
