Chain Woes

rather than the "keyhole!" type.

Then they're not SRAM. The SRAM ones (which are the only ones I've tried
that are any use) open by squeezing and sliding, not bending. The two
halves are identical, each with one pin and one keyhole.

I'm not sure they all come with powerlinks - the last chain I bought
from Wiggle came with one, the last one I bought from Parker didn't.
Still, they are easy enough to buy independently from the LBS.

I don't know the type of link you described but it certainly doesn't
sound like an SRAM Powerlink to me.

Depends on the dealer. Parker make it clear that you have to pay 50p
extra for a Powerlink (that's for a complete link, two parts).

45p cheaper than EBC so well worth it.
