  1. Maybe this is a stupid question but if I swap my front chainring from a 50t to a 53t do I have to change anything else? like chain length, derailleurs ???๐Ÿ˜• I actually would be changing the whole crank.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. Nah, should be OK assuming everything else is in good repair. Just make sure your chain is long enough by trying it out on the biggest cog at the back before going out for a ride. Can ruin your whole day if it snags back there 'cause the chain is a wee bit too short.

Are you going from a compact double to a standard double?

  4. Yes, It has a compact FSA Omega on it now and I am looking at a carbon crank set on ebay FSA and a SRAM, the sram says it 10 speed but my bike is a 9 speed, should not really matter should it??

  5. You may need to throw a couple more links on the chain.
