1. Hello!

I have a Diamondback Kalamar LX hybrid bike with Kenda Cross 700x40c tires on it. I was wondering what my options are in terms of putting crossroad tires/wheels on it? Could it take wider rims, or do I just need to get knobbier tires? I use it for commuting right now and stick to roads, but I would like to be able to take some off road trails too without worrying. I don't plan on doing extreme mountain biking with it or anything. Thanks for suggestions and recommendations.

2. If you have 40 width tires on there already, there should be space enough for cyclocross tires as well.
Do note that all the knobblies will do is offer better traction on loose surfaces. They're just as prone to pinch flats as a smoother tire.

3. Thanks for the reply debac. I'll start looking for my knobby cross tires then.

4. So I did some looking around... does anyone have feedback or opinions on the Kenda knobby k849 tires?
