I am going to get a new bb for my mtb, the current one has a derailleur mounted on the bb and I am going to change to a clamp mounted derailleur. Does anybody know if I should get another etype bb and use a spacer ring or just get a standard bb?

E-type BB? Is there such a thing? What material is your frame made of? Sometimes they use E-type FDs when they don't want to clamp around the seat tube.

There is such a thing as an e type bb, they are slightly different from a standard one but I am not sure if it will make any difference to the chainline if I use a standard bb since my bike came with an etype. I think if I use a standard bb my crankset may be closer to the frame and even come into contact with it, does anybody know?
