I need a new cassette. I currently running a Mavic cassette set with a Record groupo but need to replace the cassette, with either a Chorus or Record.
And I'm just wondering what advantages the Record cassette has over the Chorus. If it's just weight and durability then I can't see the point of spending the extra money, so are there any "worthy" advantages the Record has over the Chorus? Thanks.

Thanks.I wouldn't count on poseur points since it's hardly noticable on the bike. But aside from the reduced weight and durability, NO.

Actually the Chorus cassette would be more durable than the record. Some of the cogs on the record are titanuim. They wear much faster. The Chorus cogs are all steel.
I have a 1993 Campy record 8 speed cassette (which has all steel cogs, they made the record with all steel then) that has over 20,000 miles on it.
Little wear & works great. Really !
