Looks like he is off the program

only result was Trofeo Calvia, this is the guy who was almost unbeatable in field sprints in Tour of Germany in 2007.

Wonder if they have him riding an Ardennes program. He did win that uphill stage last year in Germany.

Interesting. So he does have 1 win? I was under the impression he hasn't notched a win this season. I Must have been issued with lowsy information.

Very perceptive post, thunder.

When he was signed to Telekom, Ciolek was touted as the next "wunderkind".

Obviously his career over the past two years, has not delivered the results which the hype had intended.

well, I would say, there were a few results which were remarkable.

The most remarkable was probably the uphill sprint in last years Deutschland Tour. Remember, he was working for Greipel, I do not know why, because his past performances in sprints were better.

Ofcourse, he won the 2005 Nationals on a flat course, beating Forster and Zabel.
But who remembers this stage.

1 Gerald Ciolek (Ger) Team Columbia 5.39.35 (38.517 km/h)
2 Rubens Bertogliati (Swi) Scott - American Beef
3 Leonardo Bertagnolli (Ita) Liquigas
4 Thomas Lövkvist (Swe) Team Columbia
5 Johannes Fröhlinger (Ger) Gerolsteiner
6 Jussi Veikkanen (Fin) Française des Jeux
7 Rigoberto Uran (Col) Caisse d'Epargne
8 David Loosli (Swi) Lampre
9 Francesco Gavazzi (Ita) Lampre
10 Maxime Monfort (Bel) Cofidis - Le Crédit par Téléphone

u/23 world champ on an up and down course. nothing surprising about that win in tour of Germany last year tbh. i think lack of results is more of a team/confidence issue more than anything.

kidding mate.

that course, Salzburg I think, was not like that. Cavendish was 6th if I remember. That is enough evidence.

this is just not a hilly parcours, near 100 riders 30 seconds within Ciolek

true. i thought it was a bit more severe than that but looking at profile obviously not. still don't think ciolek is/was on a program.
