FYI - Found this guy selling tressostar cloth tape in black, white,
some funky colors you might be looking for.

Ebay link: http://tinyurl.com/2gdp2o

$6 for 2 rolls, shipping $3 but he combines for multiple so it's a
pretty good deal for these days.

(no self interest, just a good deal for my fellow retro grouches).

Tressostar is very common in at least 3 distributors we use. We always
have black, red, blue..sometimes grey..

I've been into a lot of shops lately (in Norcal and other parts of the
country) that no longer stock cloth tape or only have it in black. White
seems to be harder to find.

I've gotten some pretty dumb looks in several shops when I asked for cloth
tape.

When I have fount cloth tape it's usually been the thicker, harder to wrap
style.

Which is the thicker tape Tressostar or Tressorex?

Chas.
