Thinking of taking up backpacking again and have been looking at kit. Coleman do a tent called a Raid that is only 980gms. Anyone got any experience of this tent please ?
Reminiscing, when I last backpacked some 25 years ago. My rucksack was canvas on a metal frame with leather straps that dug into your shoulders and everywhere else. My sleeping back came from Woolworths and you could see day light through it 'cos I had squashed it up so often. There were no fleeces and lightweight clothing like now. Mind you we had meths/paraffin Primus stoves and Vango Force 10s but they were heavier than the stuff today. And what about pack towels - aren't they magic !
