Plus, yellow = bananas, and we all know bananas fuel cyclists!

The bananas I take out of my rear pocket are always a sort of brown
colour.

Disgraceful :) You're supposed to eat them while out on a ride, not
leave them in there uneaten, till you get round to washing your jersey ;-)

FWIW, the Raleigh Royale in this household (which is 'champagne' in
colour, with, as you say, chromed fork ends) was supplied with light
tan leather bar tape. I actually like leather bar tape - can you still
get it anywhere?

I meant putting the postcode in large letters on the sides of the frame
tubes, not a small discrete stamp somewhere - and more as a
disincentive to nicking in the first place than as a serious means of
tracing.

Leather handlebar covering. NOS. made by Fujita. this is the leather
covering that is sewn on, similar to the Cinelli VIP stuff. Black. A set
for both sides of the drop bars.$65.00

Neither did I, but yellow is what I got. And just when I got used to
it the frame broke and I got blue instead. Which I really liked, so
imagine my disappointment when that one broke and only red was
available...

You mean so that every time you go on holiday with your bike, the
scallies know which postcode to visit?
