Comfort Road Bike vs Hybrid with Dropbar

Hi. I am new and looking for a bike to commute and occasionally out on the road. My budget is around $700~800 and looking for road/hybrid bike with Dropbar + Disc Break or frame/fork that is compatible to install them Any recommendation is appreciated Thank you!

If you are looking for a drop bar, disc brake, fatter tire road bike, option #1 will get you there the cheapest with the least headaches.

I have a disc brake cross bike, Marin Lombard, and I enjoy riding it quite a bit.
