In part, the thread looks a bit more balanced now. I've seen several
criticisms of sustrans and anyone else using a track bed by the railway mob
in the past, some among them hold the view that old railway beds must
remain available to be re-used for trains in perpetuity.

Just as well or the Portmadog-Carernarvon line would not be able to be
reopened (Welsh Highland)

If the agreement was that it could be returnd as a railway with only
say a months notice then maybe I Could agree.
But knowing they way many in here think, they would object to it being
reused as a railway from a cycle path. Despite some in here saying
cycle paths are dangerous and they don't use them ;-)
